The 2nd of April. International Wedgie Day. At first, a silly little idea that spread over the internet. A day where you can playfully tug on your friends’ underwear without repercussion. Just like April Fools Day. However, as the internet grew more popular, it slowly spread around and became more well known, and celebrated by a certain demographic in America. Schools noticed a high uptick in ripped underwear around school premises on the day, and nerds noticed a high uptick in ending up having to bring spare underwear to school that day. It became something akin to a national day of bullying pride. Jocks, bullies, pranksters all used it as an opportunity to flex their muscles and brains, and show off just how many wedgies they could get away with. And even further, became a competition amongst the more hardcore followers of the day. And so the records began flowing in. On April 2nd 2010, a record was set by high school senior, ‘Jasper’ Johnson, who managed to collect 102

“Do I have to?” I asked Dad sitting on my bed. He had once again popped his head into my room to make sure I was ready to go. “I won’t even need it.” Dad gave that soft smile he did sometimes, like he actually understood. Sometimes he would change his mind if I asked enough times. “Ray…” He started. “It’s a long drive and I don’t want to have to stop every thirty minutes.” “You won’t!” I bleated at him. “I don’t wanna wear it!” “Raymond.” He stated firmly. That was it, I knew I wasn’t going to get my way now. Once Dad said my full name there was absolutely no way I was going to get what I wanted, it didn’t stop me from shooting him a piercing frown. “It’s only for the drive and we will still stop for some breaks, it’s just in case.” The drive itself was long, we hadn’t been up to our cousin’s cottage in years and I remember last time I had to get Dad to pull over on the side of the highway so I could relieve myself. Jake was facing a dilemma. He was stuck on the school bus heading home. The roads were horrific and were totally jammed up with traffic. It was a complete standstill and they were still about five minutes away from their usual stop. He was stuck with his little brother Daniel who just like him was annoyed and really wanting to get off the bus so he could play in the park. Jake however had another, much bigger priority. He really had to pee. He had already been holding it in at school (for obvious reasons; boys toilets were absolutely disgusting!), and he had assumed that he would be able to get home in time to be able to pee in peace. Unfortunately, it seemed that the universe’s karma was lined up to humiliate him in the worst possible way. All he had to distract himself was Daniel rattling off all the stuff that he had done that day. “...And so Mr. Peterson showed us a documentery about dinosaurs, and it was super cool! We saw t-rex’s, stegosauruses, raptors, iguanadons, and
